Falae: Police Arrest 5 Suspected Kidnappers -By Tope Fayehun

Five out of the 12 abductors of the former secretary to the government of the federation, Chief Oluyemisi Falae, have been arrested.
A source within the family disclosed this to journalists yesterday in Akure, the state capital.
The Afenifere chieftain who was abducted on his farm at Ilado Village in Akure North local government few weeks ago, was released by the hoodlums three days after he was abducted.
olu-falaeAccording to the source, three of the hoodlums were arrested in Niger State last Sunday while the other two were apprehended elsewhere by the security agents within the last week.
All the suspects, according to the source had been kept in the custody of Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the State Police Command, Akure.
He added that the police were still on the trail of the other fleeing suspects.
He said that, “Five of them have been arrested, three were arrested in Niger State on Sunday while two others were arrested somewhere I cannot say for now but all the suspects arrested are now in the custody of SARS.
“ The police are still searching for the other seven suspects and I am sure they too will be arrested very soon”.
However, the state Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) Mr. Femi Joseph could not confirm the arrest when contacted on the telephone.
The PPRO said the issue of the kidnap of the former minister for Finance was being handled by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase.
According to him, “I don’t know anything about the issue again, it is the IG that has taken over the issue of Chief Falae because it is a national issue. The IG is likely to brief the press about the development tomorrow (Monday )”.
