Rapper Nelly was arrested on felony drug charges Saturday morning, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Nelly, real name Cornell Haynes, 40, was charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, authorities said.
He was arrested after a state trooper allegedly smelled marijuana after stopping a coach bus that didn’t have proper stickers displayed in its windows, police said.
“Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee,” Nelly’s attorney Scott Rosenblum said in an exclusive statement to ABC.
