Girls arrested over 'teacher murder plot'
Pupils aged 14 and 15 held by police over alleged conspiracy to murder teacher at high school
Two teenage girls have been arrested by police on suspicion of conspiracy to
murder a teacher.
The girls aged 14 and 15 were held by Gwent Police, in South Wales, in the
wake of the fatal stabbing of Ann Maguire earlier this week.
Officers detained the pair at Cwmcarn High School, in Cwncarn, near Newport,
on Thursday because of concerns about their behaviour, it has emerged.
The 15-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill, possession
of a bladed article on school premises and conspiracy to commit murder.
It is believed a kitchen knife had been found in the girl’s school bag and
police were called in by a teacher at the school.
